Only On 5: Former OU Players Bomar, Quinn Apologize
Former University of Oklahoma football players Rhett Bomar and J.D. Quinn apologized for getting kicked off the Sooners' football team in an exclusive video statement given Sports Xtra's Mark Rodgers.
Here is a transcript of their statements:
JD Quinn:
"The situation in Oklahoma for me was a bad deal I put myself into, and I just want to apologize for the choices that I made. I jeopardized my teammates, my coaches, the university in general. I wish I could take it back, but Coach Stoops and I... Hopefully he'll help me out and get where I need to be in my next step."
Rhett Bomar:
"One thing I just want to say to the fans, to my coaches, to my teammates: I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I mean, I feel bad for it. I respect the decision that Coach Stoops made and the administration above him. We have to live with that, you know, we have to move on. But I wish the best for the program. I cared about this program and I don't want anybody to think that we didn't. You know, we made a mistake, and I have to live with that and I accept, you know, responsibility for my actions. But I just want everybody to know that I'm truly sorry and I just wish the best for the state of Oklahoma."
