Fires Rage Across Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Wildfires are raging across Oklahoma City Sunday night, and at last count several homes were on fire.Fire Prevention Tips | Slideshow | SurveyOfficials said evacuations had been ordered at Northeast 63rd Street and Sooner Road due to fires in the area. Eyewitness News 5 chief meteorologist Rick Mitchell said humidity was rising, meaning that conditions were improving.
However, the air in northeast Oklahoma City is thick, full of smoke and people have been advised to stay away from the area. Metro fires had been expected on Sunday given the warm, dry weather conditions.Fire crews are also battling blazes near Guthrie.Stay tuned to Eyewitness News 5 for continuing coverage of the fires across central Oklahoma.
