OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department officials cleared a building at Tinker Air Force Base on Monday and allowed workers to return after a brief bomb scare.
Officials said a bomb-sniffing dog was performing a sweep of a newly renovated part of Building 3001 on Monday morning when it located something suspicious behind a wall. A second dog brought in to investigate reacted to the same location, authorities said.
Air Logistics Center staff were evacuated while authorities investigated, and the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department bomb squad was called to the scene.Sheriff's officials cleared the building and allowed workers to return at about 1 p.m.Official information about the investigation was not immediately released, and base officials did not comment.
