Officer Suffers Bruises, Possible Broken Bones In Onramp Crash

OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City motorcycle officer was recovering Thursday after he lost control of his bike and crashed near Broadway Extension.Sgt. Tom Piccahone was exiting northbound from Interstate 44 to Broadway Extension when he slipped and crashed. Paramedics lifted the injured officer with a stretcher and transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Capt. Jeffrey Becker said officers at the scene noticed diesel fuel on the road. Becker said the fuel is probably what caused the bike to slip."He eventually lost control of his bike, hit the curb and went off the bike … he has been transported to a local hospital," Becker said.Piccahone is expected to make a speedy recovery. Officials said he suffered bruises and possibly some broken bones.
