Maggie Carlo

Maggie Carlo came to KOCO-5 after stints as an anchor and reporter at television stations in Florida, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Maggie anchors the Sunday evening editions of Eyewitness News 5 and co-anchors Eyewitness News 5 at 5:00 and 6:00 during the work week.

She anchored news segments for the nationally syndicated morning program "The Daily Buzz," and served as an anchor and reporter for WOFL-TV in Orlando. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Communications.

Over the years, Maggie has interviewed luminaries including Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, boxing legend George Foreman and actor Jeff Daniels. She is a veteran journalist, keeping viewers informed on the events of Sept. 11, 2001, the closely watched Florida vote in November 2000, and two recent hurricanes. Her arrival in Oklahoma City brought her close to a piece of family lore. Maggie's father was a classmate of Jay Wilkinson, the son of legendary Sooners football coach Bud Wilkinson.

In addition to her work in the newsroom, Maggie enjoys working with children as a tutor and mentor. She volunteers her time with a group called Creatures and Kids, in which she and her dog work together as a therapy team to help children. Maggie also tutors within the Oklahoma City public school system and volunteers with a group called The Sister Study, dedicated to breast cancer research.

Maggie is an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society and is its 2008 Cattle Baron's Ball co-chair.

"It's exciting to be a part of Oklahoma's best newsroom and part of such a dynamic community," Carlo said. "It's always an honor when people invite you, as a newscaster, into their homes. I look forward to that opportunity and will work hard every day to earn and keep their trust."

Maggie is married and belongs to a local running club called The Landrunners.
