Sophia Reza was born in El Paso, Texas, but raised in Houston. She graduated from Klein High School and earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in May 1997.

Sophia went on to San Angelo, Texas, to work at KLST-TV as a producer/reporter/anchor. She stayed for a year and then moved on to Amarillo, Texas, to anchor the morning show and report. Then, in November 1999, she accepted a position as a reporter at KTSM Newschannel Nine in El Paso. She stayed there for almost six years covering everything from politics and education to the ambush of Fort Bliss' 507th maintenance company in Iraq and the POWs in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sophia loves to get involved in her community. She was a co-host for several Muscular Dystrophy telethons. For three years, she was the co-chair for the March of Dimes Walk America.

In her spare time, Sophia likes to watch movies, run, read and spend time with her two chihuahuas, Treasure and Mulan.
