Automobile magazine says the 1963-67 Corvette Sting Ray is the coolest car of all time.

The magazine put together a list of the top 100 cars.

Among the roadsters making the top 10 were Citroens, Jaguars, the Porsche 911, super-charged Duesenbergs and a gull-winged Mercedes.

The Sting Ray topped the list because, as an editor put it, the Corvette "embodied America's post-war optimism and creativity in a glorious piece of rolling sculpture that is bold, brash, loud, fast, all rolled into a single package."

The Sting Ray, which was the second generation of Corvettes, is a hot collector's car. But if you can't find or afford a '63 'Vette, fear not, Chevrolet says.

The latest Corvette -- the sixth generation, known as the C6 -- was introduced this year and is the fastest production Corvette ever, with a top speed of 186 mph.

The C6 has a similar shape to its super-cool grandfather.
